New York: Child Abuse Identification & Reporting

This course is approved by the New York State Education Department (NYSED) for Child Abuse Identification & Reporting Workshop requirements, Provider ID 80950.

Intended audience: Professionals recognized by the state of New York and the New York State Child Protective System as holding the important role of mandated reporter of child abuse or maltreatment. This includes many of the professions that are licensed/certified by NYSED & the NY State Office of the Professions & Office of Teaching Initiatives. This course provides mandated reporters in NY State the ability to recognize and report instances of suspected child abuse or maltreatment when they are presented with reasonable cause to suspect child abuse or maltreatment in their professional roles.

New York: School Violence Prevention & Intervention

This course is approved by the New York State Education Department (NYSED) for School Violence Prevention & Intervention Workshop requirements, Provider ID 0164.

Intended audience: All individuals applying for a teaching certificate in New York state. On July 24, 2000, Governor George E. Pataki signed legislation (Senate Bill 8236) entitling Project SAVE (Safe Schools Against Violence in Education) to enhance & promote safety and create a more effective learning environment within New York State’s schools. This project involves the entire community and identifies all family and school members as protagonists of the educational and safety process. It promotes training in different topics that ensure the normal and successful development of students.
