Continuing Education Requirements for District of Columbia Nurses
The District of Columbia Board of Nursing requires all nurses to take continuing education for license renewal.
Requirements specific to Licensed Practical Nurses in the District of Columbia
License Expiration & Renewal Schedule: LPN licenses are valid for two (2) years and require renewal by June 30 in odd-numbered years.
Minimum Hours: 18
CE Requirements:

- (3) hours HIV/AIDS or

Chlamydia trachomatis is a gram negative, obligate intracellular bacterium that can manifest in ocular tissue in three forms which include trachoma, neonatal inclusion conjunctivitis, and adult inclusion conjunctivitis. Neonatal inclusion conjunctivitis can be spread vertically from mother to child during vaginal birth and can evolve systemically into pneumonia.
